Fourth chamber of the Appeal court of Santiago, Chile, Banco Estado, the state is obliged to restore the account cryptocurrency exchanges Orionx, reports Bitcoin.com citing local media.
The court held that the decision to close the account was a violation of the right to equality before the law prescribed in the Constitution of Chile (Article 19, item 2).
According to local media reports, Banco Estado could not prove the involvement Orionx to money laundering and account closure violated the terms of the contract.
“A company that uses a new kind of payments and investment [of cryptocurrency], not necessarily connected with the Commission of crimes”, — stated in the court’s decision.
In early April, Chilean banks Corpbanca Itau, Bank of Nova Scotia and Banco del Estado de Chile without explanation blocked the account cryptocurrency exchanges Buda, Crypto MKT, Orionx.
Recall that a Chilean court for the protection of free competition (TDLC) rejected the appeal of the largest banks of the country and left the April decision on the restoration of the accounts of kryptomere Cryptomkt and Buda in force at the time of the investigation.
